Dx3 Session Spotlight: What is Mixed Reality and What Does it Mean for Your Business

“Mixed reality encompasses a wide range of experiences that previously were considered to be only augmented reality or virtual reality. In mixed reality, people, places, and objects from your physical and virtual worlds merge together in a blended environment that becomes your canvas.”

But what does that mean for your business?

“Right now we’re on a path of learning,” explained Bruno Capuano, Technology Innovation Lead at Avanade Canada. “As a partner of Microsoft, we’re working with customers to find a way to use mixed reality as a practical solution for their business.”

Bruno Capuano has spent more than 15 years in the IT industry performing roles in innovation, development, and management. He’s been a Microsoft MVP for 10 years and focused on emerging technology and new experiences. Bruno is an active Microsoft Technologies Community participant, a writer, and a frequent speaker at international technology conferences.

In 2016 Microsoft unveiled HoloLens, a holographic computer built into a headset. It lets people engage with digital content and interact with the holograms within any environment like a living room or an office space.

“This kind of technology is changing the way businesses are interacting with customers,” said Jason Thompson, Senior Product Manager of HoloLens. “It’s a pretty exciting time to see how the work around it will evolve”.

In this session with Microsoft and Avanade, Bruno will demonstrate how the HoloLens device is solving real business problems and setting the landscape for how business will operate across retail. Come and try out the HoloLens on March 8 (Day 1) from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM and see how you can integrate it into your business.
