Last night at online video conference Vidcon, Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube announced that the company would open a creator space in Toronto, according to Mashable.
The article does not include an approximate opening date for the space.
Toronto seems to be getting more attention from youtube as a city of content creators. In May, Youtube held a Fanfest in Toronto, featuring several notable Canadian online video stars like Lilly Singh (aka Superwoman) and Jasmeet Singh (aka Jus Reign).
YouTube currently has spaces for content creators in Los Angeles, London, Tokyo, New York, Sao Paulo and Berlin.
Toronto’s own online video conference/celebration, Buffer Festival, is coming up in October 2015 with Youtube as a lead sponsor.
